Detailed Itinerary- Thimpu, Paro & Dochula Pass 


Day 01: Paro Airport – Thimphu Transfer.

(Distance: 65 kms. / Driving Time: 2 hrs.)

Arrival at Paro Airport and transfer to Thimphu, the capital city of Bhutan. On arrival check in at the hotel. Leisure time in a town. Overnight stay at Thimphu.


Day 02: Thimphu Sightseeing.

Day 04: Paro Sightseeing

Day 01:  Arrival at Phuentsholing

Arrival in Phuentsholing by road from Bagdogra Airport(165 kms)/ New Jalpaiguri(165 Kms) or New Alipurduar Station(61 Kms). At the border you will complete your immigration formalities and make your currency conversions at our office either before or after check in at hotel. After wards you can visit the crocodile park and take a stroll in the town which is complete contrast from Indian towns, clean road, disciplined traffic driving without using horns. You can take the taste of Bhutanese  food at the numerous local eateries. Overnight stay at Hotel. 


Day 02:  Phuentsholing - Thimphu

After breakfast drive from Phuentsholing to Thimphu the capital(2500m 185 kms. 06 hours). On the way visit the famous Kharbandi Gonpa, and witness the scenic view of the Dooars the foothill plains of India.  

Enroute you will be passing numerous small towns of Gedu, Chukha and Chunzom, at the confluence of Pa Chu and Thin Chu. Reach Thimphu and check in at hotel. In the evening you can take a walk in the Thimphu town to experience the unique people in their national dress, the markets offering local handicrafts,etc. 

Rest of the time at leisure. Overnight at the hotel.


Day 03: Thimphu to Punakha

After breakfast depart for Punakha. The beautiful view over the Himalayas at Dorchula Pass at 10,500 feet is one of the most spectacular sights in all Bhutan. Dochula Pass has  the 108 chortens built to commemorate Bhutan’s victory over  Assamese insurgents from India. It is a visual delight but remember to respect the local customs and not breach the sanctity of the place. Drive towards Punakha and visit Chimi Lhakhang a  Buddhist monastery. Take a picturesque walk through the paddy field to  reach the Chhimi Lhakhang.  Further drive to Punakha, and visit the  most beautiful Dzong in Bhutan built in 1637 by Shabdrung, the spiritual  and temporal ruler of Bhutan prior to the present dynasty. Overnight Stay at the hotel at Punakha.


Day 04: Punakha to Paro

After breakfast drive from Punakha to Paro (130 kms 05 hours) Upon arrival at Paro check in at the hotel.  
Afterwards visit the National Museum which houses and  impressive collection of fine arts, paintings, bronzes, textiles,  jewellery and handicrafts sections as well as galleries of stamps for  which the Country is very popular.  Also visit the Rinpung Dzong,  Overnight at the hotel.

Day 05:  Departure Via Phuentsholing/Bagdogra Airport/ NJP/ New Alipurduar.
